Video Hook Check looks at how a short video opens (a TikTok, Reel, Short or short ad), usually a draft you're about to post. Upload the file through a private link (the first sound is timed from the file itself), or share a public YouTube or Shorts link, and it reports what happens in the first seconds, with times: when the first sound and the first word come, the opening line word for word, the text on the first frame, the first cut, and when the subject appears. It checks 8 things a strong opening does, says whether the video delivers what its opening promises, and writes three rewritten openings that fit the video: the line to say, the text to put on screen and where to make the first cut. Tools: • check\_hook checks one video's opening, from an upload\_id or a link, and returns the readings, the checklist and three rewrites. • compare\_hooks compares 2–4 versions of the same video with different openings and ranks them, with a reason for each. • upload\_video returns a private, one-time upload link for a video file on your device: a draft, a phone video or an export from an editing app. • check\_job returns the result for an upload that is still being processed. • my\_usage shows the signed-in account, its plan and the checks left this month. • whoami shows which account the connector is signed in with. All tools are read-only. Supported: uploaded video files, public YouTube videos and Shorts, direct links to video files, and public Google Drive and Dropbox links. Links to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or X aren't fetched; upload your own video instead. The payoff is looked for in the first 3 minutes. Results are a checklist reading of the video, not a prediction of views. It uses the same account as Watch Any Video: an account is created the first time you sign in (email and password, or Google).
