  • get_diagnostic — Read an exact MNxxxx code from the packaged diagnostic catalog, including retired codes. Returns remediation, a get_doc document ID, and related contract section IDs for get_sections.
  • get_doc — Read a document by exact id from search_docs. Returns complete Markdown through bounded chunks with nextOffset. Paths are identifiers, never filesystem paths or URLs.
  • get_example — Read a packaged example and its source identity by name from marionette://catalog. Content is a JSON string containing the example sources, chunked with nextOffset. This tool does not execute code or certify checks.
  • get_sections — Read exact section IDs in requested priority order under a UTF-16 code-unit budget (metadata excluded). Includes nested subsections, deduplicates overlap, never truncates a section. Reports budget omissions; use get_doc for oversized sections. Does not infer related contracts.
  • get_symbol — Look up an exact export, Export.member, or member name in the packaged symbol index. Returns signatures, primary contract sections, and mentions using the installed skill algorithm. Paginate ambiguous names; never substitute a similarly named API.
  • search_docs — Search exact packaged Markdown and diagnostics from the identified artifact. Case-insensitive lexical search ranks word matches, favors titles and multiple matching terms, and ignores common function words. Returns matchedTerms, bounded snippets, and canonical links; a match need not contain every query term.
  • search_sections — Rank versioned documentation sections with the imported consumer skill: identifier components, BM25 body scoring, heading weight and ancestor context. Returns up to five exact IDs, heading ancestry, source links and character sizes. Search separately for related APIs; results do not establish dependency completeness.
