Remote MCP server
A remote MCP server runs on the publisher's own infrastructure and is reached over the internet at a URL, unlike a local server on the user's computer. Every server behind a Claude listing is remote: 727 URLs linked from Claude listings on October 13, 2026. 719 use Streamable HTTP and 7 still use the older SSE transport.
