The score rewards staying power. An app that held #1 for six days and slipped on the seventh, like Skyscanner, still beats an app that reached #1 only on the last day. Two apps changed category during the week: Flaim Fantasy moved from Productivity to Other on Oct 25, and GSC Wizard moved from Developer Tools to Data & Analytics on Oct 24. Both went straight to #1 in their new chart.
Who held #1 all week?
Seven apps were #1 in their category on every one of the 7 days. Four of them are OpenAI's own: Google Drive, Outlook Email, Codex Security and Health. The other three come from outside publishers.

What changed on Oct 28?
For five days the charts barely moved: on no day did more than 4 apps enter a top 10. On Oct 28, 50 did.

The new #1s were GitHub, Shopify, Data, Finances and Booking.com. PostHog, which led Data & Analytics on Oct 22, sits at #3. A one-day move like this can be a change in how ChatGPT orders its charts, and next week's list will show whether it held.
How many top places does OpenAI hold?
OpenAI held 11 of the 130 top-10 places on Oct 22 and 22 on Oct 28. Its #1s went from 4 to 7. On Oct 28, no other publisher held more than 2 top-10 places.
Most of the gain came from OpenAI apps that were off the top 25 all week: Sales at #2 in Business & Operations, Product Design at #3 in Creativity, Zotero at #3 in Education, Public Equity Investing at #3 in Finance and ChatGPT Ads Manager at #9. Others moved up from lower places, such as Finances from #20 to #1 and Outlook Calendar from #25 to #4.
The charts show ChatGPT's order and nothing about how it was set, so they can't tell whether OpenAI's apps rose on use or on placement.

- Steady below the top. Slack was #2 in Communication and Malwarebytes #2 in Security on all 7 days, unmoved by the Oct 28 change.

The featured, new and small-business lists are ChatGPT's own picks, so they aren't counted. The week score is the OpenApps Rank formula over one week instead of four: 1 divided by an app's place on each chart, averaged over the 7 days, with nothing for days off the top 25.
A chart place is ChatGPT's order, not a count of users. ChatGPT publishes no installs. The Oct 28 change is one day's reading, and other countries' charts can differ.
The sign-in picks cover the week's top 60 only. Apps behind sign-in hide their tools until you connect, so their pages show less.
