This week in ChatGPT apps: a 63-app shelf reshuffle

ChatGPT listed 288 new apps in the week of Oct 19 to Oct 25, 2026, and none of them was on a home shelf by Oct 28. The shelves moved anyway: on Oct 28, 2026, 63 apps entered 15 of ChatGPT's 16 US home shelves in one reshuffle, bringing Booking.com and iCloud Mail onto the home page and adding Figma to Creativity.

ChatGPT's 16 US home shelves took in 76 entries and recorded 76 exits from Oct 21 to Oct 28, 2026. Most of that change came at once. On Oct 28, 63 apps entered a shelf and 63 left, on 15 of the 16 shelves at the same time; only Small Business was untouched. The other 13 entries were spread across the week before. For the 288 launches, skip to What launched? below, or see the full list on New ChatGPT apps.

Each shelf shows 9 apps, so the 16 shelves hold 144 slots. Across the window, 186 distinct apps held at least one of them. The shelves that changed most were Popular, with 8 entries and 8 exits, then Creativity, Education, Finance and Productivity with 7 each. Communication and Small Business changed least, with 1 entry each. For all that movement, the number of distinct apps on the home page barely changed: 132 at the window's start, 131 at its end.

Of the 63 apps that entered on Oct 28, 46 had not been on any shelf earlier in the window. Booking.com entered Travel at #1. iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar took #1 and #2 in New & Noteworthy. Wix entered Business & Operations at #5. The other 17 were already on the home page. Figma returned to Creativity at #4, a shelf it left on Oct 21; it held Small Business all week. Adobe added Creativity #6 to its New & Noteworthy slot. Amplitude, Scite and Spotify came back to shelves they had left a few days earlier.

On Oct 28, 6 apps changed shelves instead of leaving the home page. Outlook Email had been #1 in Communication all week and moved to Popular at #5. Health left #1 in Healthcare for #2 in Popular. Supabase left Developer Tools for Popular too.

The 13 earlier entries are the week's quieter story. The table lists the ones with the clearest arc.

GSC Wizard did not arrive from nowhere. It sat at #9 in Developer Tools until Oct 24, then moved to Data & Analytics at #1 the same day. ChatGPT Ads Manager also entered Business & Operations at #9 on Oct 28, so it ends the window on 2 shelves. Xero rose from #9 to #6 in Finance before it left.

Who stayed on a shelf all week?

Of the 144 slots on ChatGPT's US home shelves at the start of the window, 76 were held by the same app at its end. That is 53%, held by 71 distinct apps. Of those apps, 5 stayed on 2 shelves each: Shopify, HubSpot, Slack, Canva and Higgsfield.

Of those 76, 13 never moved at all. They held the same position every day of the window:

  • Canva: #1 in Creativity and #5 in Small Business.
  • Consensus: #1 in Education.
  • Undermind: #1 in Scientific Research.
  • Codex Security: #1 in Security, where the top 4 did not change.
  • Dropbox: #1 in Small Business, a shelf where 6 apps kept their exact place.

Small Business and Communication were the steadiest shelves, with 8 of 9 apps staying. Productivity was the least steady. Only Firecrawl and Asana stayed there, and Firecrawl fell from #1 to #8 on Oct 28.

Staying is not the same as holding a place. Remote Desktop Commander was #1 in Popular for 7 days, then #8 after the reshuffle. Windsor.ai went from #1 to #6 in Business & Operations. Skyscanner slipped from #1 to #2 in Travel when Booking.com took the top slot.

What launched?

ChatGPT listed 288 new apps in the week of Oct 19 to Oct 25, 2026. Oct 21 stands out with 102 launches. The other weekdays had 27 to 41, and the weekend of Oct 24 and Oct 25 had 26 and 22, so the drop at the end of the week is the usual weekday-to-weekend dip. None of the 288 was on a home shelf from Oct 21 to Oct 28.

One publisher name stands out. Hoang Le Phuc, spelled two ways, published 28 of the 288 apps, or 10%. Most are Vietnamese study aids for medicine and nursing. Another 21 apps list no publisher at all.

These are the launches from names a buyer would know, with what each does in ChatGPT:

Beyond launches and shelves, ChatGPT's ranked lists logged 665 rank moves, 156 chart entries and 137 chart exits from Oct 21 to Oct 28. Our ChatGPT top charts show them list by list.

What it means

ChatGPT's home shelves changed mostly in one step this week. 63 of the 76 entries came on Oct 28, and 12 of the 16 shelves lost at least 4 apps in the window. In this window, a quiet few days did not mean the shelves were frozen. Of the 63 apps that entered on Oct 28, 46 had not been on a shelf earlier in the window, yet none of the 288 apps launched that week made a shelf. The steady #1 slots, such as Canva in Creativity and Consensus in Education, held through the reshuffle. Our data shows when the shelves changed, not why ChatGPT picked these apps.

Method and limits

The shelf figures cover ChatGPT's US home shelves from Oct 21 to Oct 28, 2026. That window starts after the week's Monday, Oct 19, so earlier shelf changes that week are not counted. All 16 shelves in the data are US shelves. Other regions may differ.

  1. Entries and exits count rows where an app joined or left a shelf inside the window. An app that moved between shelves counts once on each.
  2. Stayed means the app was on the shelf at the window's start and had not left at its end. Those apps may have entered long before Oct 21.
  3. Positions are one daily place per app. A shelf change inside a day can be missed.
  4. Launches count every app our new ChatGPT apps list dates from Oct 19 to Oct 25, 2026. That list holds 310 apps listed since Oct 19, and 288 fall in the week. Launches after Oct 25 belong to next week's issue and are on the New ChatGPT apps page now. Late listings can still appear.

The public data also held back 1,290 ChatGPT change events from this window, so counts of rank moves and chart entries are the ones we can publish, not every event. For how shelf placement works, see how to get on a ChatGPT home shelf and the featured shelves page.
